RV Mamma: Summer 2006
Fun, informative guide to RV travel with young children and dogs.
Entry for July 21, 2006

Great lesson learned today.   You NEED to make reservations for campsites with hookups WAY in advance during the summer.   After many attempts to find a decent spot, we have given up.

Instead, we are going to spend the weekend here, in Seattle, enjoying the nice weather on Lake Washington.

Yesterday, I took Leo (2yrs) to Pike Place Market.  That place is amazing.  We studiously avoid going there unless we have guests from out of town, yet it is so much more than a tourist site.  With a fully functional farmer's market, displaying an exceptional array of fruits and vegetables, (many are organic), and an amazing selection of unique and delicious products, I should shop here every week.

There is cheap parking along the waterfront, underneath the market, and elevator service up the four flights of stairs.  Of course, if you walk, you can burn off the dozen, mini-donuts that you simply MUST eat while you are there, as well as the dozens of samples you will invariably eat while browsing the stalls.

From beautiful, fresh flowers, to freshly made cheeses and chutneys, there is truly something wonderful for everyone.
